Thirteen Things I Love about Summer!

Finally I remembered TT!

Here are my 13 favorite things about summer.

1. The sky is blue. Not gray or white or black-BLUE!

2. The ice-cream truck music. It makes me feel like a kid again.

3. The smell of freshly-mowed grass.

4. The airport (I work near one) is always chock-a-block and all the tourists are wearing shorts.

5. Summer sales!

6. No school. I’ve been out of school for a while now, but knowing that kids are on summer vacation still gives me a buzz.

7. Getting a tan. I am super-pale from September to April, but once May hits, I go a lovely shade of brown.

8. Taking the dog to the beach. It feels so good to walk in the sand and I love watching my dog jumping in the waves.

9. Barbecues and beer in the garden!

10. Summer blockbusters. Anyone seen Ironman yet?

11. Using the outdoor cafe tables when getting lunch.

12. Summer theme tunes. Last year it was Rhianna’s Umberella. This year I think it’ll be Madge and Justin.

13. Writing in the sun!

Oh, I love the smell of fresh mowed grass and a summer rain shower that leaves a rainbow. And tans! I love to be tan, but as I’ve gotten older, my body doesn’t tolerate the sun. :(

Fabulous pics. While I burn under a 60 watt bulb so the tanning’s out, I love the ice cream man’s bells and the smell of the grass. And oooh, the sky!

Unfortunately, I seem to be allergic to Summer. Literally. I have rashes that only appear when it gets warm outside.

I can, however, enjoy the idea of Summer, and I’m glad that folks have reason to be as happy as I am during the winter.

And darn it, those skewers looked mighty good! Those looked like Teriyaki to me… MMMmmmm…
